About

Hello, I’m Carolyn Zinn. I live in Michigan, and I love to create with fabric.IMG_7712

I have been creating with fabric for as long as I can remember, ever since I learned the magic of joining one piece of fabric to another, forever transforming both into something of purpose and beauty. As a young adult, I was first drawn to quilting by a fascination with the geometry and color of traditional Amish quilts. In recent years, I have begun to use bolder colors, organic shapes and nontraditional media.

My art quilts are constructed of natural fibers, like cotton, linen and silk; and natural embellishments such as glass, metal, wood and shells.   Many of my pieces emerge intuitively and organically, with very little preplanning. When creating small art quilts, I prefer to piece and embellish by hand, which allows me to be more flexible and spontaneous.

I am a member of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) and the Surface Design Association (SDA).

  1. Hi Caroline! Thank you so much for the lovely scarf. I treasure it.
I am feeling exhausted from ArtPrize, still have some remnants of the cold I caught there. Now Dave has it, too. Yikes.
It was great to meet you!
    Back to work.
    Janet
